Abstract

The study investigates the effectiveness of Cytop as a protective coating for doped semiconductor polymers, particularly focusing on its ability to preserve electrical performance in ambient conditions. By coating a protective layer of Cytop on the surface of doped polymer films, the research evaluates its role in preventing degradation caused by exposure to moisture and oxygen in air. The study uses polymers like PBTTT and IDTBT, known for their high charge-transfer capabilities and structural tolerance to doping. Films were prepared using both ion-exchange and immersion doping techniques, and their electrical properties were evaluated under different conditions. The findings indicate that the Cytop layer significantly impedes oxygen and water erosion, enhances the electrical stability of the films, and potentially repairs microstructural damage caused by doping.
