Abstract

The article delves into the intricate dynamics of entanglement entropy in non-unitary quantum walks, specifically focusing on a model that exhibits PT-symmetry and topological phases. It introduces a method to distinguish these phases by analyzing the long-time behavior of entanglement entropy, revealing that entanglement persists in certain phases while vanishing in others. The study provides insight into the topological properties of non-Hermitian systems and offers a novel approach to characterize different quantum phases experimentally. The findings are supported by phase diagrams that illustrate the relationship between entanglement entropy and the model parameters, highlighting the distinct behaviors of different phases.
