Abstract

This article delves into the creation and testing of an environment-friendly and low toxicity polishing solution for medical titanium alloys. The study aims to enhance the surface quality of titanium alloys used in medical devices while minimizing toxic residues. By employing chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) methods and introducing a unique polishing solution based on Hank's fluid, silica dioxide abrasives, and citric acid, the researchers achieved remarkable results. The solution significantly reduced surface roughness and toxic ion release, making it a promising alternative to traditional polishing methods. The study also includes comprehensive performance tests, including surface roughness analysis, friction coefficient evaluation, and material removal rate assessment. The findings demonstrate that the proposed solution not only meets the stringent requirements for medical device surfaces but also offers a safer and more efficient approach to polishing titanium alloys.
