Abstract

The article addresses the challenge of estimating parameters in the elementary chirp model when stationary noise is present, a critical issue in statistical signal processing. It introduces a modified Newton-Raphson algorithm designed to handle the non-linear nature of the chirp model, ensuring more accurate and efficient parameter estimation. The study compares this novel approach with traditional least squares estimators and other existing methods, highlighting its superior performance in terms of convergence rates and mean square errors. Through extensive numerical simulations and real-world data analysis, including applications in radar and sonar systems, the article demonstrates the practical utility and robustness of the proposed algorithm. The findings underscore the algorithm's ability to provide reliable estimates even in complex, multi-component chirp models, making it a valuable tool for advanced signal processing tasks.
