Europes Internal Combustion Engine Drama

The future of the European automotive industry and its suppliers is more than ever dependent on political manipulation. Under the guise of climate protection, previously valid, fundamental principles are now being ignored. Against the background of the free market economy, which has so far been successfully established in Europe, legal requirements should generally be made in a technology-neutral manner. This gives the industry the opportunity to develop freely in terms of technology for the benefit of customers and competition. Unfortunately, this principle of technology neutrality has been consciously or unconsciously ignored in European emissions legislation, particularly for CO₂, which means that individual technologies will no longer have a future in Europe. In addition, the law applies double standards: Only what comes out of the exhaust pipe in the form of emissions is considered and therefore a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) is CO₂-free by decree. The significant CO₂ emissions for production and operation are deliberately overlooked, because the electricity comes from the wall plug.
