Abstract

The study focuses on evaluating the water resources carrying capacity (WRCC) in Anhui Province, China, using a combination of the entropy weighting method and the CRITIC method to determine the weights of various indicators. The GRA-TOPSIS model is employed to assess the WRCC and identify obstacle factors, highlighting the importance of considering sudden natural disasters like droughts. The analysis reveals significant spatial and temporal variations in WRCC, with northern cities facing more challenges due to limited water resources and higher population density. The study provides valuable insights for sustainable water resource management and regional development planning.
