Abstract

The chapter delves into the evaluation of multiphase flow pattern and friction loss prediction models, focusing on their application to the NEMOG’s multiphase flow circuit. It begins with an introduction to the demand for accurate flow pattern predictions in various industries, followed by a review of historical and recent models. The methodology involves the implementation and validation of selected models using experimental data. Preliminary results show that the Petalas and Aziz model outperforms others in predicting flow patterns and friction losses. The chapter concludes with a discussion on the future perspective of these models and the need for further experimental validation. The detailed comparison of model performances and the practical application to a specific circuit make this chapter a valuable resource for specialists in the field.
