Abstract

The article delves into the evaluation of single-phase interlinking converter topologies for hybrid AC/DC microgrids, emphasizing efficiency and cost. It explores the challenges and benefits of integrating Distributed Generation (DG) into the electrical grid, highlighting the role of microgrids in mitigating issues like voltage fluctuations and line loading. The study compares different microgrid structures, focusing on hybrid AC/DC microgrids due to their potential for increased efficiency. It presents a detailed analysis of converter design parameters, including efficiency curves, power switches, and control strategies. The authors propose a methodology for selecting the optimal converter topology using a Pareto boundary analysis, considering both efficiency and cost. The article includes simulations and results that demonstrate the performance of various converter configurations, concluding with recommendations for practical implementation.
