Abstract

The article explores the critical aspect of structural fire safety, focusing on the behavior of low-rise eccentrically braced frame (EBF) structures under different fire scenarios. It delves into the importance of understanding fire behavior in these structures, which are commonly used in seismic regions but have been understudied in terms of fire performance. The research uses finite element modeling to simulate various fire scenarios, revealing the complex interactions between fire, structural components, and the overall stability of the building. The findings emphasize the resilience of braced bays compared to unbraced ones, offering valuable insights for future building designs in fire-prone areas. The study also highlights the role of link beams and eccentric braces in maintaining structural integrity during fire events, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of fire safety in modern building design.
