Examining the Relationship Between Ego States and Conflict Management in Café and Restaurant Workers

The study explores how ego states influence conflict management styles among cafe and restaurant workers in Bangalore. Using purposive sampling, 101 participants were selected to participate in the study. The study consisted of Transactional Analysis Questionnaire and the Conflict Management Styles Questionnaire. The Pearson correlation and linear regression analysis of the data have been carried out in SPSS. The results illustrates a direct relationship between the ego states and styles of conflict management among café workers (r = 0.339).Additionally, the study resulted a significant predictive influence of ego states on conflict management styles (p < 0.01). These findings suggest that worker’s ego states can influence the way they approach and resolve conflicts. Understanding these dynamics can help in bringing better communication and conflict resolution in cafes and restaurants among managers and the workers. By understanding the impact of ego states on conflict management style new possibilities for increasing the team cohesiveness and reducing friction between manager and workers can be found.
