Abstract

The chapter delves into the experimental analysis of luffa–date leaves–sawdust hybrid natural fiber composites, focusing on their wear behavior and mechanical properties. The study aims to address the growing demand for lightweight, high-strength, and cost-effective materials for structural applications. By combining natural fibers with epoxy resin, the research explores the potential of these composites as sustainable alternatives to synthetic fibers. The chapter presents detailed experimental procedures, including fiber preparation, composite fabrication, and wear testing using a pin-on-disk setup. The results demonstrate the direct relationship between sliding distance and wear rate, with the luffa–date leaves–sawdust composite (6:3:1 ratio) showing the highest tensile strength and flexural strength. The chapter concludes by highlighting the composite's potential as an eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative for various applications, such as wood substitutes and in-car products.
