Abstract

The study investigates the seismic behavior of pile-reinforced soft clayey slopes using a combination of experimental and finite element analyses. Experimental tests were conducted on a shaking table to simulate seismic conditions, examining the influence of pile configurations and ground motion parameters on slope stability. The results showed that pile reinforcement significantly improves slope stability, with the pile-cap system being the most effective configuration. Finite element analyses validated the experimental findings and further explored the effects of pile flexural rigidity, length, and installation location on slope performance. The study provides valuable insights into the reinforcement of soft clayey slopes subjected to seismic shaking, highlighting the importance of pile design and installation for enhancing slope stability.
