Abstract

The surface of the milling process has an important effect on the performance of the mold, and the surface texture is an important structure on the machined surface. Firstly, the definition of surface texture and the method of determining the direction are given. The surface texture of the mold was obtained and the influence of the interaction between milling parameters on the surface texture was analyzed by milling experiment. And the influence of the interaction between surface texture and milling parameters on service performance of mold was studied according to the idea of “milling parameters–surface texture–surface service performance”. Then the influence of surface texture on heat, force and wear in friction process was analyzed by finite element simulation. Finally, the data of the dry sliding wear test are analyzed by the response surface method. The interaction between the milling parameters and the surface texture is analyzed and a multi-to-one mapping relation model is established, which provides a reliable basis for selecting the appropriate milling parameters and texture direction.
