Abstract

This chapter delves into the experimental evaluation of energy conversion characteristics in composite photovoltaic/thermal (PV/T) systems integrated with phase change materials (PCM). The study compares the performance of conventional PV systems with PV/T, PV-PCM, and PV/T-PCM configurations, focusing on temperature regulation and energy output. Key findings demonstrate that the PV/T-PCM system achieves the highest performance, with a 35.54% increase in daily output power compared to conventional PV systems. The integration of PCM effectively reduces PV module temperatures, enhancing overall efficiency and lifespan. The chapter also explores the thermal energy storage capabilities of the PV/T-PCM system, highlighting its potential for meeting domestic hot water demands. This research provides valuable insights into the optimization of solar energy systems for improved performance and sustainability.
