Abstract

The article 'Experimental Investigation of Early-Warning Critical Energy for Strainbursts' explores the critical energy levels that indicate elevated strainburst risk in underground coalmines. Strainbursts pose significant hazards, and the study aims to predict these events using experimental methods. The authors conducted conventional triaxial compression and acoustic-emission experiments on coal samples to analyze stress-strain relations, AE characteristics, and energy evolution. The research identified an early-warning critical strain energy level that signals increased risk, providing a crucial tool for mine safety. The study also developed a formula to calculate this critical energy, offering a practical solution for predicting strainbursts.
