Abstract

The article investigates the post-fire response of concrete-filled steel tube (CFT) columns exposed to temperatures ranging from 400°C to 1000°C. It discusses the experimental setup, material properties, heating regime, and test results, focusing on load-carrying capacity, deformation behavior, secant stiffness, ductility index, and residual strength index. The study compares these findings with design codes such as Eurocode-4, ACI, and AS 5100, offering valuable insights into the structural performance of CFT columns in high-rise buildings subjected to fire. The research underscores the importance of understanding the effects of high temperatures on CFT columns, given the increasing frequency of building fires and the need for robust fire safety measures.
