Abstract

The article explores the challenges of experimental modal analysis in high damping systems, where resonance peaks are difficult to distinguish. It introduces a novel method using velocity feedback control with multiple shakers to reduce damping and sharpen resonance peaks, facilitating the accurate identification of modal characteristics. The study also delves into the mechanism of modal damping ratio changes during velocity feedback multiple excitation and provides methods for identifying the original modal damping ratio of the target structure. The proposed method is validated through numerical analyses and experiments, demonstrating its effectiveness in enhancing modal analysis in high damping systems. This research contributes to the field by simplifying the experimental procedure and providing a more accurate identification of modal characteristics.
