Abstract

The chapter investigates the phenomenon of hydrodynamic luminescence, a light emission observed during cavitation in hydraulic equipment. It discusses the thermal and electrical theories behind this phenomenon, with a focus on the experimental setup and results. The study reveals that hydrodynamic luminescence can be triggered by electrical discharges and is influenced by the rheological properties of the liquid. The authors propose a conceptual model of the cavitation process and suggest applications in various industries, including chemistry and pharmaceuticals.
