Abstract

The article presents an experimental study on the crack propagation in fractured rock masses with varying dip angles. It explores the influence of joint inclination on the failure mechanisms of rock engineering projects, such as tunnels and slopes. The study employs Monte Carlo theory and 3D printing to construct complex fracture networks and uses Digital Image Correlation (DIC) to monitor the rupture process. The research identifies critical dip angles that significantly affect the fracture behavior of rock specimens, providing valuable insights for stability management and reinforcement design in rock engineering projects.
