Abstract

The article presents an experimental study on the behavior of vertical jet fires impinging on horizontal wood plates. It analyzes the variation in flame extension length and fire pattern radius under different heat release rates, nozzle diameters, and nozzle-plate spacings. The study also proposes new correlations to predict these parameters, offering valuable insights for fire investigation and safety design. The research highlights the importance of understanding the interaction between jet fires and combustible materials like wood, which is often overlooked in existing studies. By providing detailed experimental data and correlations, the article contributes to the advancement of fire safety engineering and the development of more accurate fire safety models.
