Abstract

The article discusses the pricing of hotel breakfasts, a significant component in the hospitality industry. It highlights the importance of breakfast in hotel services and the challenges hoteliers face in pricing this add-on. The study incorporates spatial heterogeneity and competitive environments, using a sample of hotels from Spain, the UK, France, and Italy. The authors employ Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) to analyze the impact of hotel category, online reputation, horizontal differentiation, and competition on breakfast pricing. The results show significant spatial variations in these factors, providing valuable insights for hotel managers and revenue managers. The study also identifies different submarkets within destinations, offering practical implications for hotel pricing strategies and destination management.
