Abstract

This chapter explores the innovative use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) to enhance cultural heritage activation and engagement at the Dunhuang Mogao Cave Exhibition. The study focuses on three key areas: dynamic activation through mural and dance animation, visual restoration via image repair and filling, and interactive narrative using intelligent guided commentary. The findings highlight how GenAI technologies can transform static displays into immersive, interactive experiences, significantly enhancing visitor engagement and understanding. The chapter also discusses the challenges and future directions of integrating GenAI in cultural heritage preservation, offering a comprehensive overview of the potential and limitations of these advanced technologies.
