Abstract

The chapter delves into the complexities of socially sustainable smart manufacturing, emphasizing the human-centric perspectives essential for Industry 5.0. It examines the digital initiatives and organizational changes within a large Swedish manufacturing company, utilizing the co-workership framework to analyze employee interpretations and experiences. The study reveals the importance of trust, openness, community spirit, cooperation, engagement, meaningfulness, responsibility, and initiative in navigating industrial digitalization. The findings highlight the need for a holistic approach that addresses both technological and organizational aspects to achieve socially sustainable smart manufacturing.
