Abstract

This chapter delves into the challenges faced by people with dyslexia (PwD) in managing alphanumeric passwords and explores the acceptability of graphical passwords as a more inclusive authentication method. Through interactive interviews, the study reveals that PwD often rely on patterns for password creation, which can be both beneficial and problematic. Graphical passwords, which bypass textual recall and spelling issues, show promise but require further investigation to ensure their security and usability for this population. The chapter also discusses the potential of graphical passwords to address the cognitive and social factors that hinder good password management practices among PwD.
