Abstract

This chapter delves into the significant challenges posed by soft soils in construction due to their poor mechanical properties and lack of weight-bearing capacity. It introduces metakaolin as a potential stabilizing agent, explaining its transformation from kaolin and its reactive properties. The study focuses on the correlation between hydraulic conductivity and compressive strength in soft soil treated with metakaolin. Through extensive experiments, including particle size distribution, compaction tests, and permeability tests, the research aims to understand how metakaolin influences soil stability. The findings have the potential to advance geotechnical engineering by proposing new eco-friendly construction techniques, making it easier to compact sandy soils and build durable structures.
