Abstract

The article delves into the extraction and characterization of cellulosic fibers from the peduncle of Areca catechu L., a plant waste. These fibers are shown to have excellent mechanical and thermal properties, making them a promising alternative for reinforcing polymer composites. The study includes chemical, physical, and thermal analyses, revealing the fibers' high cellulose content, rough surface texture, and thermal stability. This work not only advances the field of sustainable biocomposites but also offers a solution to industrial agro-waste management, paving the way for a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
