Abstract

The article delves into the extraction of nickel and cobalt from serpentine-rich ores through the sulfation–roasting–leaching process. It highlights the significance of understanding the sulfation–roasting–leaching mechanism for optimizing the extraction process, particularly the impact of magnesium silicate in serpentine-rich ores on metal recovery. The research focuses on the influence of mineral phases, process conditions, and the kinetics of the sulfation–roasting–leaching process. The study aims to improve the efficiency of nickel and cobalt recovery from serpentine-rich ores by optimizing the sulfation, roasting, and leaching steps. The findings provide valuable insights into the factors affecting metal recovery and suggest optimal process conditions for efficient extraction.
