Abstract

The article delves into the preparation and evaluation of a TPU/PCL/carbon nanotubes double-percolation conductive nanocomposite, designed for rapid and selective response to volatile organic compounds (VOCs). It highlights the environmental and health threats posed by VOCs, emphasizing the need for efficient gas-sensitive sensors. The study focuses on polymer-based nanocomposites, which offer advantages over traditional metallic or oxide semiconductors. The double-percolation structure is introduced to reduce the conductive percolation threshold and enhance gas-sensitive properties. The article presents a detailed methodology for preparing the nanocomposite and evaluates its performance through various tests, including sensitivity to different VOCs, temperature, and humidity. The results demonstrate the potential of this novel nanocomposite for advanced gas-sensing applications.
