Abstract

The article delves into the critical challenge of asphaltene precipitation in crude oils, which can block flow lines and surface facilities, causing technical and financial constraints. It discusses various treatment methods, including chemical, mechanical, and thermal methods, each with its advantages and disadvantages. The focus is on the factorial analysis of experimental parameters such as dilution ratio, precipitant molecular weight, and temperature, using datasets from Ashoori et al. and Hu and Guo. The study employs sensitivity analysis and statistical methods to determine the significance of these parameters on asphaltene weight percentage. The results are validated through experiments on Pakistani origin crude oil, highlighting the importance of these factors in controlling asphaltene deposition. The article concludes with a call for further research on asphaltene precipitation under various crude oil conditions.
