Abstract

The chapter delves into the pressing issues of women’s empowerment and gender equality, particularly in Indonesia, and the challenges women face in leadership roles. It presents a bibliometric analysis of 278 articles published between 2011 and 2021, identifying key themes such as gender roles, leadership styles, and transformational leadership. The study highlights the significant disparities in women’s representation in corporate boards and the impact of gender biases on leadership perceptions. Notably, it discusses the role of role models, empowerment, and leadership development in advancing women’s leadership. The research also underscores the need for further exploration into the intersection of cultural and societal factors influencing women’s leadership. The chapter concludes by recommending future research directions to address the identified gaps and promote gender parity in leadership.
