Abstract

The article discusses the challenges of fault localization in hybrid transmission lines due to complex refractive waves. It introduces a novel method combining wavelet packet decomposition (WPD) and TKEO to improve the accuracy of fault localization. The proposed method addresses issues such as modal aliasing and endpoint effects in EMD and VMD decomposition. The study includes simulations and comparisons with other methods, demonstrating the superior performance of the proposed approach in various fault scenarios and conditions.
