Abstract

This chapter presents a comprehensive investigation into the optimization of Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printing parameters to achieve superior dimensional accuracy. The study focuses on the Creality Ender 3 3D printer and Polylactic Acid (PLA+) material, examining the critical factors of printing temperature, layer thickness, and print speed. Utilizing the Taguchi method, the research conducts a series of experiments to determine the optimal settings for these parameters, aiming to minimize dimensional discrepancies and enhance print quality. The findings reveal that layer thickness has the most significant impact on dimensional accuracy, followed by printing temperature and print speed. The chapter provides detailed experimental setups, measurement results, and statistical analyses, offering a robust framework for optimizing FDM 3D printing processes.
