Abstract

This chapter introduces FGSGT, a novel saliency-guided Siamese network tracker designed to address the challenges of thermal infrared (TIR) target tracking. The key focus areas include the architecture of FGSGT, the fine-grained feature extraction process, the multi-level feature fusion module, and the Siamese residual refinement block. The chapter also presents extensive experimental results on benchmarks like PTB-TIR and LSOTB-TIR, showcasing FGSGT's superior performance in terms of precision and success rates. By leveraging key fine-grained feature information, FGSGT significantly improves tracking accuracy and robustness, making it a valuable advancement in the field of computer vision. The detailed methodology and experimental comparisons provide insights into the effectiveness of FGSGT in overcoming the inherent challenges of TIR tracking, such as low contrast and sparse feature details.
