Abstract

This chapter delves into the intricate interactions within piled raft foundations, focusing on how raft thickness, pile spacing, and pile length influence settlement behavior. Through advanced finite element analysis using PLAXIS 3D software, the study reveals that increasing raft thickness up to 2 meters significantly reduces both total and differential settlements. The analysis also shows that adding more piles enhances the load-bearing capacity and stability of the foundation system. The study highlights the importance of optimal pile spacing and length in minimizing settlements, with closer spacing and longer piles demonstrating superior performance. The findings are validated against experimental data, confirming the reliability of the numerical simulations. This comprehensive analysis provides valuable insights for designing cost-effective and stable piled raft foundations, making it an essential read for professionals in the field.
