Abstract

This chapter delves into the flexural performance of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) beams reinforced with steel fibre-reinforced polymer composite bars (SFCBs) and hybrid fibres. The study compares the performance of RAC beams with and without hybrid fibres, reinforced with either steel or SFCBs. Key findings include the influence of hybrid fibres on failure modes, load-deflection relationships, ductility, and stress-strain analysis. The results show that the addition of hybrid fibres significantly enhances the ultimate load capacity and ductility of RAC beams, particularly when combined with SFCBs. The study concludes that hybrid fibres with SFCB-reinforced RAC beams offer a feasible alternative to traditional steel-reinforced RAC beams, providing better flexural capacity, ductility, and durability. This research provides valuable insights for professionals looking to improve the performance of concrete structures using innovative reinforcement techniques.
