Former Formula 1 world champion Nico Rosberg is Co-owner of the IAV subsidiary TRE. At the 10th chassis.tech plus Conference, he spoke about the challenges presented by the driving dynamics of autonomous cars. In the interview with ATZ, he talked about the growing interest in electric mobility and the important contribution that Formula E can make.
Nico Erik Rosberg (born in 1985) has been fascinated by motor racing since he was a child. His interest was fostered by his father, former Formula 1 world champion Keke Rosberg. His experiences in carting and Formula A, where he became European vice-champion in 2000 with his father's team, paved the way for his Formula 1 career, which included a period in the Mercedes team with Michael Schumacher. In 2014 and 2015 Rosberg was the runner-up in the Formula 1 world championship and in 2016 he achieved his goal of becoming world champion. He then retired from Formula 1. Rosberg became involved in Formula E in 2018 as an investor and shareholder. He has also invested in several start-ups in the field of sustainability. He is the Co-founder of the Greentech Festival, which was held for the first time in May 2019 as part of the Formula E event in Berlin. The festival aims to be a global platform for the green technologies of the future from the fields of mobility, energy, and lifestyle.
