Abstract

The article discusses the importance of linear prediction analysis in speech coding and recognition systems. It introduces the concept of linear prediction and the challenges associated with its computational intensity. The main contribution of the article is the design and implementation of an optimized FPGA-based hardware accelerator for linear prediction analysis using Xilinx Vivado and HLS. The design is validated on a Zynq Zybo FPGA board and compared with software-based results. The article highlights the significant reduction in resource utilization and improvement in clock frequency achieved by the proposed design, making it a practical and efficient solution for speech coding in FPGA-based systems.
