Abstract

The article explores the use of frequency distance sequences for packet detection in physical-layer security, leveraging software-defined radios (SDRs). It introduces a generalized construction from Milewski’s work, which ensures low peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR), zero autocorrelation, and wide bandwidth coverage. The proposed sequences are evaluated through simulations and real-world experiments on SDRs, demonstrating improved performance in coarse and fine synchronization compared to traditional methods. The results highlight the practical applicability of these sequences in enhancing the security and efficiency of wireless communications.
