Schaeffler is now a steering member in the hydrogen interest group the Hydrogen Council. This means the automotive and industry supplier is increasing its commitment in the areas of hydrogen and fuel cells.

"Joining the Hydrogen Council will enable us to further advance and establish hydrogen technologies together with strong partners globally," says Klaus Rosenfeld, CEO of Schaeffler AG. The initiative, based in Belgium, consists of 81 leading companies from the energy, transport and industrial sectors.

Schaeffler has already been involved in the areas of hydrogen and fuel cells for some time. The automotive supplier provides, for example, fuel cell components such as bipolar plates for fuel cell stacks, electronic controls, special high-performance bearings, smart thermal management modules and components for passive hydrogen recirculation.
