Abstract

The article delves into the fuel constrained combined heat and power dispatch problem, focusing on the optimization of power and heat generation under operational restrictions. It highlights the use of the Marine Predators Algorithm to solve this non-convex optimization problem, considering constraints such as valve-point effect, prohibited operation zones, ramp rate limits, and power loss. The study also introduces the take-or-pay fuel constraint, which has been overlooked in previous research. The algorithm's effectiveness is demonstrated through case studies, showing significant cost savings when the fuel constraint is taken into account. The article provides a detailed mathematical formulation of the problem and compares the results with other heuristic algorithms, making it a valuable resource for professionals in the energy sector.
