Abstract

The chapter introduces a fully integrated AC-DC converter with high power density, addressing the challenges of bridging the zero-crossing in AC inputs. It discusses state-of-the-art AC-DC converters and their limitations, then proposes a topology using a switched-capacitor DC-DC converter to achieve complete integration and high output power. The implementation of this topology is detailed, including the control, buffer capacitor, and drivers. Measurement results from a prototype demonstrate the converter's efficiency and power density, showcasing its advantages over existing solutions. The chapter concludes with a comparison to state-of-the-art converters, highlighting its superior performance and integration capabilities.
