Abstract

The article discusses the challenge of achieving Selective Opening Attack (SOA) security in the Identity-Based Encryption (IBE) setting, where identity secret keys are accessible to the adversary. It introduces the concept of Delegatable All-But-Many Lossy Trapdoor Functions (DABM-LTDF) and constructs an adaptive-id, SOA secure multi-bit IBE from this primitive. The construction is based on the Learning With Errors (LWE) assumption and achieves SIM-SOA security. The article highlights the enhanced properties of DABM-LTDF, such as indistinguishability and equivocability, which are crucial for achieving SIM-SOA security. The construction is also shown to have a polynomial modulus q, making it more efficient. The article provides a detailed comparison with previous SOA secure IBE schemes and discusses open problems and future work.
