Productivity in the construction sector is showing very low growth compared to other sectors. This is partly due to the lack of digitization and the complexity of the construction site system. New, innovative construction site technologies and automation solutions for construction machinery are needed to increase productivity. For this purpose, the Institute for Machine Elements and System Development and the Institute of Information Management in Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University are developing and building a construction site test center, unique in Europe, where new technologies can be developed and tested in real conditions independent of manufacturers. ...
