Abstract

The chapter delves into the challenge of energy consumption in buildings, particularly those with intermittent usage like mosques. It discusses the inefficiencies of traditional heating and cooling systems in such buildings and the need for more efficient control methods. The study focuses on the use of fuzzy logic to manage the radiant heating and cooling system in a mosque, aiming to optimize energy use and enhance thermal comfort. The chapter outlines the design and implementation of a fuzzy logic controller using a PLC, detailing the fuzzification process, rule base creation, and defuzzification method. It also presents the results of the system's operation, showing significant energy savings and improved system responsiveness. The conclusion emphasizes the adaptability and effectiveness of the fuzzy logic control structure in dynamic and unpredictable environments, suggesting potential future improvements with machine learning integration.
