This chapter delves into the intriguing effects of gender on creativity in pair programming, comparing interactions between human developers and agents. It utilizes the Osborn-Parnes Creative Problem-Solving process to analyze conversations, revealing distinct patterns in how men, women, and mixed-gender pairs approach problem-solving. The study finds that while all pairs spend similar time on idea generation and development, men-only pairs tend to focus more on formulating challenges, while women-only pairs combine clarification with implementation.
