Abstract

The article introduces the Generalized Alpha Power Inverted Weibull Distribution, a flexible model designed for predicting air quality in Kathmandu, Nepal. The distribution is derived using the Alpha Power Transformation method and is characterized by unique hazard rate functions. The study explores the distribution's statistical properties, including its quantile function, mode, moments, and mean residual life time. The authors also conduct a simulation study and real data analysis to validate the model's performance in predicting particulate matter levels. The article concludes with a discussion on the model's applicability and potential for enhancing air quality monitoring and prediction.
