Abstract

This chapter delves into the Carbon Limit Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), a key component of the EU's 'Fit for 55' climate policy package, aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. CBAM introduces import levies to compensate for differing environmental regulations between EU and non-EU countries, significantly impacting energy-intensive industries. The study utilizes linguistic summarization, a data mining technique, to extract and present complex data in an easily understandable format. This innovative approach provides decision-makers with valuable insights into the effects of CBAM on countries and industries, bridging the gap between data and policy-making. The research highlights the importance of sustainable development and offers a unique perspective on the global implications of CBAM. By generating linguistic summaries, the chapter offers a comprehensive overview of the impacts and potential strategies for countries to adapt to this new regulatory environment.
