Abstract

The study focuses on the genetic association between morpho-physiological attributes and heat tolerance in rice genotypes. It characterizes 102 rice varieties and assesses their phenotypic responses to temperature stress. The research highlights significant correlations between traits such as chlorophyll content, days to heading, and grain yield per plant. Notably, early sowing is emphasized as a strategy to mitigate heat stress during critical growth stages. The study also provides insights into the heritability of heat tolerance traits and recommends breeding strategies to develop heat-resistant rice varieties. The findings are crucial for enhancing rice production in the face of climate change.
