Abstract

The article delves into the green biosynthesis of zinc and selenium oxide nanoparticles (ZnONPs and SeONPs) using callus extract from Ziziphus spina-christi. The study emphasizes the characterization of these nanoparticles through various techniques such as UV-visible spectroscopy, FTIR, XRD, SEM, TEM, and thermal analysis. The antimicrobial activity of ZnONPs and SeONPs is evaluated against a range of bacterial and fungal strains, demonstrating their potential as effective antimicrobial agents. Additionally, the antioxidant properties of these nanoparticles are assessed using the DPPH free radical assay, showcasing their strong antioxidant capabilities. The article also includes a cytotoxicity test, confirming the safety of the biosynthesized nanoparticles. Overall, the study underscores the potential of green synthesized nanoparticles in addressing antimicrobial resistance and oxidative stress, making it a valuable contribution to the field of nanotechnology and plant-based therapeutics.
