Abstract

This study delves into the growth and characterization of methyl orange dye-doped adipic acid single crystals, focusing on their potential applications in optical filtering and thermal stability. The research explores the structural properties of these crystals, revealing that the inclusion of methyl orange dye does not alter the monoclinic crystal lattice but induces significant modifications in lattice parameters and unit cell volume. Optical characterization shows that the crystals exhibit a sharp absorption peak in the visible light region, making them suitable for use as optical filters. Thermal analysis indicates enhanced thermal stability and decomposition temperature compared to pure adipic acid crystals. The study also investigates the second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency of the crystals, finding that it is diminished due to the presence of the dye. Overall, the research highlights the potential of methyl orange dye-doped adipic acid crystals for applications in optoelectronic devices and thermal stability, offering insights into their unique properties and potential uses in advanced technologies.
